How To Lead a Diverse Team Into Belonging

"You were never locked out. You just hadn't shown the barrier a shape it could recognise."

Turn the friction in your diverse teams into cohesion you can measure. Each leader leaves with a Belonging Blueprint for their own team, and a way to prove it moved.

For leaders of culturally diverse teams, and the people-and-culture, learning-and-development and inclusion teams who back them. Delivered in organisations, universities and the public sector.

Available as a keynote, a half-day workshop, a two-day leadership intensive, a five-day in-house program, or a scheduled open cohort. Start with the keynote. Everything is quoted to your brief.

For experts and creators

How To Turn Your Knowledge Into Art That Connects

"Knowledge travels in a form, and the form decides who receives it."

Take the knowledge you hold, your research, expertise or body of work, and package it into an artistic format, a song, video, performance or spoken word, that a non-specialist audience receives, remembers, shares and buys into.

For artists and creators who want their work to reach further, for scientist-artists, and for researchers and experts who hold deep knowledge but lack a public-facing form for it. Delivered for individuals and for research institutions training their HDR and early-career researchers.

Available as a workshop, a professional-development day, or a multi-session cohort for an institution. Everything is quoted to your brief.

One method,
five steps

  1. Start with a real idea. Begin with something true and worth carrying, not a slogan.
  2. Find the human angle. People remember what they feel, not what they are told.
  3. Translate it. Carry the idea into music, movement, story or image, often by connecting it to another world. Most people explain; we translate.
  4. Bring people in. A room of strangers becomes a group of participants who take part, not just watch.
  5. Leave one clear thing. Close on a single idea people keep and can act on.

Profile

Brazilian born, Sydney based, building bridges between science, performance, and public culture.

WELI facilitates and designs the work. An evolutionary ecologist (PhD ANU, Division of Ecology and Evolution) with research on kangaroo personality and group responses, he builds activations, workshops, and programs that pair peer-reviewed science with movement, music, and storytelling, for corporate teams, university cohorts, school groups, and creative partners.

The same lens powers WildWooHoo, his creative innovation studio, where research becomes culture through music videos, film, and public moments. His Kangaroo Time, the worked example the method grew from, was the AAAS Dance Your PhD Overall Winner 2024 and screened globally.

WildWooHoo is a creative innovation studio in Sydney. Music is the studio's first format, and the method behind it also makes keynotes, workshops, and consultancy, alongside music videos, animated series, books, and public moments.

Kangaroo Time, made by WELI before the studio, was the AAAS Dance Your PhD Overall Winner 2024 and is the worked example the method grew from.

Pricing

How we price

WELI works with schools, universities, community and cultural organisations, NGOs, government teams and companies, so fees scale with the organisation, the audience and your budget. As a guide, school science sessions start from about $549 a session, one-off workshops up to about $2,490, keynotes from about $3,000, and full-day and signature workshops for universities and larger organisations run up to about $10,000. Large corporate engagements reach up to about $20,000. Individuals and small groups sit at the lower end. Retainers, commissions, performances and sync licences are quoted to your brief.

Most people come with a budget in mind. Tell us your budget, why you would like WELI for this, and what you want your audience to take away, and we build a proposal that fits. Every booking is quoted to your brief, with a fixed quote within two working days.

Why a specialist

Why hire a specialist

A teacher can run a science lesson and a good speaker can hold an audience. Turning your actual research or message into a song, film or live session people take part in and remember needs a working evolutionary ecologist (PhD, ANU) who also writes and performs. That is the exact mix here, run through one method that won the AAAS Dance Your PhD Overall Winner 2024 and reached more than 238 outlets.
